Binary Strings and Graphs

چکیده
Binary strings of length n can be added and permuted. Of special interest is the permutation that cyclicly shifts a binary string to the right. For example, when n = 5, then cyclicly shifting 10110 to the right yields 01011. Obviously if we cyclicly shift a string of length n to the right n times to get back what we started with. Addition of the strings is done component-wise modulo 2. For instance, when n = 7, then 1011000+1100101 = 0111101. We spent the semester studying the operation that cyclicly shifts a string to the right once, and then adds the result back to the original. Here are some examples for when n = 4: 1010→ 1111, 1000→ 1100 and 0111→ 1100.

A graph is called supermagic if there is a labeling of edges where the edges are labeled with consecutive distinct positive integers such that the sum of the labels of all edges incident with any vertex is constant. A graph G is called degree-magic if there is a labeling of the edges by integers 1, 2, ..., |E(G)| such that the sum of the labels of the edges incident with any vertex v is equal t...
متن کاملA New Heuristic Algorithm for Drawing Binary Trees within Arbitrary Polygons Based on Center of Gravity
Graphs have enormous usage in software engineering, network and electrical engineering. In fact graphs drawing is a geometrically representation of information. Among graphs, trees are concentrated because of their ability in hierarchical extension as well as processing VLSI circuit. Many algorithms have been proposed for drawing binary trees within polygons. However these algorithms generate b...

A Fibonacci string of length $n$ is a binary string $b = b_1b_2ldots b_n$ in which for every $1 leq i < n$, $b_icdot b_{i+1} = 0$. In other words, a Fibonacci string is a binary string without 11 as a substring. Similarly, a Lucas string is a Fibonacci string $b_1b_2ldots b_n$ that $b_1cdot b_n = 0$. For a natural number $ngeq1$, a Fibonacci cube of dimension $n$ is denoted by $Gamma_n$ and i...
متن کاملBinary bubble languages and cool-lex order
A bubble language is a set of binary strings with a simple closure property: The first 01 of any string can be replaced by 10 to obtain another string in the set. Natural representations of many combinatorial objects are bubble languages. Examples include binary string representations of k-ary trees, unit interval graphs, linear-extensions of B-posets, binary necklaces and Lyndon words, and fea...
متن کاملClifford Algebras and Graphs
I show how to associate a Clifford algebra to a graph. I describe the structure of these Clifford graph algebras and provide many examples and pictures. I describe which graphs correspond to isomorphic Clifford algebras and also discuss other related sets of graphs. This construction can be used to build models of representations of simplylaced compact Lie groups. 1 Clifford Algebras Let A be a...
